When will you recover from whiplash?

One of the major complaints people have after car accidents in Ontario is that they’re suffering from whiplash. This happens when a person is thrown around in a vehicle, especially as the vehicle rapidly slows down, and the head moves too quickly in one direction while the body is restrained.

Many times, people don’t know they have whiplash right away. It is only a day or two later that they start to feel serious pain in their necks, which is when they realize what happened to them. If you are one of these people and whiplash is having a huge negative impact on your life, how long should you expect it to last?

The hard truth is that no one can really be sure. Every single case is different. Since this is not a clean break or something else predictable, the healing times are different based on how severe the injury really is.

That being said, you should know that the overall outlook that you have going forward is positive. This is an issue that should heal and go away over time, and you shouldn’t have to deal with it for the rest of your life. While some people have just minor pain for a couple days, others will have pain that lasts for a week or more.

Generally speaking, these injuries heal in around a month, but some people do see persistent symptoms that last even longer than that.

As you go through this process, getting medical treatment and experiencing pain and suffering, you may want to look into the rights you have to seek out financial compensation.
